The Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) is a consortium of eight Philippine universities, including Mapúa University, that offer master’s and doctorate degrees in various engineering fields. The ERDT scholarship aims to deliver high-impact research, upgrade the qualifications of practicing engineers, and develop a culture of research and development.

The duration of the ERDT Scholarship for master’s programs and doctorate programs are 2 and 3 years, respectively, while lateral entry’s (MS and PhD) will be determined based on the units already acquired.

Qualifications
- Must be a Filipino Citizen
- Must not be over 50 years of age at the time of application
- Must have a BS degree in Engineering or a related field (for MS applicants)
- Must have an MS degree in engineering or a related field (for PhD applicants)
- Must be in good health as attested by a medical certificate
- Must not have criminal/administrative cases
- Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student
- Must not have other scholarship contracts that will interfere with the terms and conditions of the ERDT Scholarship Agreement
- Must be willing to render the required service obligation equivalent to the length of time that the scholar enjoyed the scholarship – One year of service for every year of scholarship or a fraction thereof
- Must have a full-time commitment to the scholarship and must not be engaged in any form of employment during the scholarship.
The successful applicant must:
- Officially enroll as a full-time graduate student;
- Not avail or enjoy other scholarships;
- Be willing to render the required service obligation equivalent to the length of time that the scholar enjoyed the scholarship-one year of service for every year of scholarship or a fraction thereof; and
- Must have a full-time commitment to the scholarship and must not engage in any form of employment during the period when the scholarship is awarded.
Requirements
- Fully Accomplished ERDT Scholarship Application form
- Narrative essays (see page 4 of the Application Form)
- Recommendation letter from 3 past professors/supervisors
- Certified True Copy of Grades (TCG)/Transcript of Records (TOR)
- Birth Certificate (photocopy)
- Medical Certificate stating that the applicant is physically and mentally fit to study from a licensed physician with his/her PRC license number indicated
- Valid NBI Clearance
- Acceptance Letter/Notice of Admission from the Graduate School
- Approved Program of Study
Additional requirements for lateral applicants:
- number of graduate units required in the program
- number of graduate units already earned with corresponding grades
If employed:
- Permission to take a Leave of Absence (LOA) while on scholarship or Proof of resignation or termination of contract
- Certificate of No Pending Administrative Case
